We’re super excited to invite you to our End of Year event: Digital Inclusion meets AI - a day packed with inspiration, connection, and fresh ideas on how AI can help make digital inclusion a reality for everyone.

We all know AI is having a massive impact on our way of working and even living. How can we keep up with this fast-moving technology and how can it be used to enhance the digital inclusion in our society?  Let’s shape a digital future that works for everyone.

We’ve been working hard to create the program of the day and hope to welcome all our members and ambassadors again for an amazing get together. It will be an inspiring day with an expert keynote, use case presentations, and meaningful networking opportunities.

Geertrui Mieke De Ketelaere

Geertrui Mieke De Ketelaere is Adjunct Professor at Vlerick Business School. She holds a master degree in civil and industrial engineering and specialised in robotics and artificial intelligence during her studies. Over the last 30 years, she has worked for several multinationals on all aspects of data and analytics (IBM, Microsoft, SAP, SAS, etc). From a business consulting point of view, she is specialised in defining the AI business canvas, from potential value to predefined risks. With her understanding of the hindsight, insight and foresight of AI technologies, she also frequently acts as an expert and coach behind the scenes. In her public presentations and recent book, Mieke puts the focus on the demystification of the hype around AI. The State Secretary of Digitalisation, Mathieu Michel, appointed Mieke as "Digital Mind" in 2020. In 2024, Mieke was appointed "IT Person of 2024" in Belgium. Today, Mieke continues to share her vision on the future of AI as speaker on international radio, television and conferences.

Fake news has been accelerated by the rise of AI. How can we teach people how to fact check? Linc vzw will present their 'Factchecken' course to arm yourself with critical skills to debunk fake news.

The lobby workgroup has worked on 3 positioning papers. They outline our policy recommendations on how more digital inclusion will contribute to a sound economy, will help to ensure a safe environment, and build an efficient government.

 How AI (text & voice assistants) can remove barriers for better inclusivity" (age, language, technology savviness) through the use case of an healthcare client in Belgium were we created a voice assistant through telephony that can handle basic informations and appointments management.

The AI for Education Awards, supported by the Friends of d-teach online school Fund at the King Baudouin Foundation, celebrates and supports teachers, schools, and students across Europe who use Artificial Intelligence in ethical, creative, and pedagogically meaningful ways. Laureates receive visibility, training, and guidance within a European network. Anthony Belpaire is Head of AI at BNP Paribas Fortis where he contributes to the transformational use of AI within the bank. He'll talk about Yara, the internal AI assistant intended to familiarize everyone with the possibilities of AI.

Vincent Libin

Vincent will show how Linc vzw's tips for recognizing fake news have evolved from simple checklists to fostering lasting critical awareness - a reflective mindset in the age of AI. At LINC vzw, they explore how to navigate digital pitfalls together with others, building learning networks along the way.

AI should build bridges, not walls. The crucial difference lies in the implementation. How do you create an experimental framework within the organization, with a focus on inclusion? We share insights from our coaching programs: how to implement AI within a framework that enables conscious, inclusive, and ethical choices.
